Students from 76 nations have come to Lester B. Pearson College of the Pacific on Vancouver Island. The college is a microcosm of the world. But what happens when young people who are enemies in their homelands come together in studies and recreation in this neutral setting? Filmed in 1991 immediately after the Gulf War, Meeting Ground focuses on Jalal, a Palestinian from the West Bank, and Oren, who is from Israel. The film follows the two from their first prickly encounter, to their struggle to communicate their points of view, to how they finally build a relationship.
