This episode of the Green Interview features Michelle Maloney, a lawyer and National Convenor of the Australian Earth Laws Alliance, an organization she co-founded in 2011 to carry out research and education that furthers the understanding, development and practical application of ‘Earth jurisprudence' and ‘wild law' in Australia. She is also the Australian representative on the Executive Committee of the Global Alliance for the Rights of Nature. Inspired by the work of Thomas Berry and Cormac Cullinan on "Earth jurisprudence" and "wild law," an emerging philosophy of earth-centred law aimed at supporting our planet rather than destroying it, Maloney embarked on her own journey as an advocate. In 2014 she co-edited the book, Wild Law – in Practice, which is the first book of its kind to focus specifically on the practical legal implications of Earth jurisprudence.
