What is morality? What do we mean when we speak of a moral code, moral judgment and moral intelligence? This program examines the concept of morality and defines key terms often used when invoking it. Live-action video examples and interviews illustrate for the viewer the complexities involved in helping young people develop a sense of "right" and "wrong." Key values fundamental to most moral codes, such as duty, justice and self-control, are explored, and viewers are shown how those values develop throughout childhood and adolescence. The principle theories of moral development are covered, including psychoanalysis, sociobiology, social learning and cognitive learning.
