Demande de pré-visionnement
Since the invention of fire, humankind has not ceased to invest time and money in the research and exploitation of new sources of energy. A never-ending challenge faces us, as our current lifestyles are largely dependent on energy resources extracted from our planet. Mastering the use these various elements, renewable and non-renewable, has provided the modern world with scope for progress. However, after prolific misuse, it is time to find alternative durable solutions so that we may continue to meet the energy needs of everyone, everywhere. Architects of Change featured: * Eugène N'dione, operations manager at CERAD, helps to provide water treatment and distribution throughout Senegal. The residents of the region were also in dire need of fuel, and invasive cattails provided the solution. * Harish Hande, Karnataka, India, visited the Dominican Republic during his studies at University of Massachusetts, and realized that solar energy could be a solution for the disadvantaged regions of his homeland. He co-founded the Solar Electric Light Company (SELCO), making basic electricity services accessible and affordable for India’s rural areas. * Hans Krock in Hawaii focuses his research on developing and promoting ocean thermal energy conversion.
