Professor Edward Ayensu, a leading Ghanaian plant biologist and a member of several international organizations which deal with agricultural issues in Africa, talks about the problem of food aid dependency, how it has affected food production in Africa and the ways in which those involved can and are working to change the situation. The film also examines the problem of feeding the growing urban centres in Africa, whether African farmers should be concentrating their efforts on food crops or cash crops, and ways to break the cycle of dependency.
