It’s Ella’s mom’s birthday! Ella wants to get her mom a present just from her! She heads out to find something spectacular and runs into her friends Slippy and Madhu. Everyone has great suggestions, including a geyser, a birthday song, ice crystals and a sculpture. But nothing seems to quite suit Ella’s idea of a perfect gift until she sparks on the idea of ring dust. They quickly collect some and lose it just as fast. Now Ella is discouraged. Will she realize that the best gift of all may not come wrapped in a box?

The year is 3021. The place is the Milky Way, where eight-year-old Ella gleefully heads out with her friends on exciting adventures of discovery. At only eight, she already knows quite a bit about space... but there is always more to explore!
