Lalia is a 9-year-old girl living with her parents and little sister in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She is a proud Senegalese-Malian-Canadian who enjoys every aspect of all three cultures. From food, clothing and hair braiding to roller-skating and scouts, Lalia shows how it has shaped who she is today. When Lalia gets hungry, she stops at the grocery store to pick up all the ingredients to make her favourite meal – Mafe and Bissap - a West African Peanut Butter Stew and a sweet drink made from the Hibiscus plant. Lalia is going to be so surprised with the special message that arrives for her!
