In Sumatra we follow Joakim when he tries to find out what impact the palm oil industry has on both the natives and the animals living in the rainforest, including the consequences our own daily choices when shopping for groceries have. He also meets 100% wild orangutans and the female called Hope that has survived 74 rifle shots but has become blind.

Back in Sweden Joakim travels up north to compare the deforestation here with the same in Sumatra and finds out that the situations are quite similar and how important it really is to keep our forests intact. He also meets with the swedish indigenous people “samerna” who are the first to be exposed to the climate changes since they are so dependent on nature and what the ongoing changes mean to them.
