They have rules as punishing as any army boot camp and, once there, you don't leave until they say you're ready. They are the intensive, tough love rehab centres that pull out all the stops to set drug and alcohol addicted teens on the road to recovery. There is no doubt that many are helped, but critics of these programs say that some of the methods used fall nothing short of brainwashing and often do more harm than good.
