Alcohols are a group of toxic liquids, most of which are lethal for humans to consume. They are used in products like solvents, fuel, skin products and medicines, and also, as you probably know, in alcoholic beverages. In this film you will learn more about alcohols and their specific components. For example that alcohols contain at least one hydroxyl molecule and that alcohols with two hydroxyl molecules are called divalent alcohols, and alcohols with three hydroxyl molecules are called trivalent alcohols. You will also get to know the difference between methanol and ethanol, which properties the different alcohols have, and also why fossil fuels are mixed with alcohol.
