This short documentary explores Indigenous histories of southwest Saskatchewan through Turning the Lens: An Indigenous Archive Photo Project, featuring the work of Plains Cree writer and cultural activist Paul Seesequasis. Drawing on archival photographs of First Nations, Métis and Inuit life, the film highlights local stories connected to the Métis and Nekaneet First Nation, alongside historic images by photojournalist Rosemary Gilliat Eaton, anthropologist John Bennett, and the private family collection of local Métis Barb Parchman. Together, these photographs offer an intimate glimpse into Indigenous life, community and identity across generations.
