At 24, Adeya’s older sister was diagnosed with cancer. The diagnosis was devastating for the whole family and as her sister’s health declined, 15-year-old Adeya, became a caregiver. She supported her sister with daily tasks and kept her company at treatments. Eventually her sister succumbed to her disease but despite the crushing loss, Adeya has honoured her sister’s memory and resilience by committing to being a stronger, more determined person in her own life and career.
After Caregiving is a documentary style web series in which former caregivers are asked to recount their experience in the weeks, months and years after their caregiving responsibilities end.
