Mark Oliver Everett, better known as E, is the lead singer of the EELS. What most of his fans don't know is that Mark's father, Hugh Everett III, was a physicist who gave birth to one of science's most bizarre theories—the "Many Worlds" interpretation of quantum mechanics. This predicts that parallel universes are constantly splitting off from the one we all live in.

Initially overlooked, today Hugh Everett's theory is explored by many top physicists. The film follows the wry and charismatic Mark as he travels across America to learn about the father he barely knew. Only by entering the paradoxical world of quantum mechanics can Mark hope to understand the riddle of his father's brilliant but troubled mind.

Special DVD features include: materials and activities for educators; scene selections; closed captions; and described video for the visually impaired.
