In Aunt Tilley’s house, Kyla and E.B. investigate random objects in the file drawers they inherited from Great Aunt Hermione that show how history connects to who we are and how we live now.

The Big Deal mystery box includes 3 items.  Kyla takes the ring to a jeweler, and restoration reveals it's a wedding ring, a symbol of eternal love. Meanwhile E.B. takes the wampum belt to a First Nations expert and learns that it was made of clam shell beads (wampum); these belts were a way of documenting important events and agreements. At a violin shop, Kyla learns about certificates of authenticity for violins. Handshakes, seals and signatures can also be symbols of an agreement. Contracts and agreements are a big deal!
