From downtown Vancouver hosts Dominique Reynolds and Don Kelly bring us some amazing artists from all over Canada.

  • Radio Radio was formed in Clare, Nova Scotia in 2007. Their sound is described as 'electro hip-hop' and the duo often rap in Chiac, which is an English influenced dialect of Acadian French.
  • Jim Hart is a renowned West Coast artist and hereditary Chief of Haida Gwaii. Hart found his identity through Haida art. He speaks of the emotional toll of carving and creating a totem that represents the dark history of residential schools in Canada.
  • Missy Knott is a Nashville-recorded singer who, as a child, dreamt of being 'the First Nations Selena'. She is a member of the Curve Lake First Nation.
  • Digging Roots is a Juno award winning First Nations power couple. Shoshona Kish and Raven Kanataka formed their band in 2004.
  • The Trade-offs, are a quartet band based in Iqaluit, Nunavut. They are a musical blend of blues, rock and funk.

The ABORIGINAL DAY LIVE 2017 SERIES features 8 episodes from 8 stages across Canada. For 15,000 years, the Aboriginal peoples of Turtle Island have gathered on this sacred day of the summer solstice to celebrate their culture, inspire their children and honor the wisdom of their elders. And this year people from every corner of the country celebrate National Aboriginal Day in the largest Aboriginal concert ever.
