Nowadays we have almost constant access to finding out what time it is. The time is displayed on your computer, mobile phone, the display on the oven or on your watch. But how did it all start? In this film, you get to follow the path of the clock through history, from the oldest sundials used in Egypt about 3500 years ago, to today's incredibly accurate atomic clock. We will take you through terms like gnomon, pendulum clock, and chronometer. You will get to know how shadows, wax and water have been used to measure time, and that the first sundial was found in Egypt, and that the ancient Greeks and Romans developed the sundials further. Finally we’ll reveal that we all have a biological clock operating inside of us.
