Richard Hill describes the complexities of Haudenosaunee territory, wampum history, and wampum teachings. He explains the traditional, timeless teaching of the “Dish with One Spoon”: take only what you need, leave something for others, and keep the dish clean. The Two Row Wampum Treaty belt (aka The Covenant Chain of Peace) records an agreement between the Haudenosaunee Nations and the Dutch in 1613. Filmed in 2019 on Six Nations of the Grand River Territory.
“Voices From Here” is a video series featuring oral histories from First Nations, Métis, and Inuit people.
