Montreal Lake Cree Nation in northern Saskatchewan, knows that healing is a community effort. Meet Jarrett, Carol and Flair, who awaken the power of their people by going back to their traplines, land-based teachings, and cultural learnings Harold Johnson’s camp.
- Raised on the trapline, Jarrett carries forward his great‑grandparents’ knowledge and teaches youth traditional Woodland Cree skills.
- After growing up with family addiction and losing loved ones to suicide, Carol finds strength in sobriety, hunting, and reconnecting with the land, leading a women’s hunting group that empowers women to reclaim roles disrupted by colonialism.
- A youth mentor raised in traditional ways, Flair provides stability, food, and guidance to children who often lack support at home, helping them build confidence and community.
