For hundreds of years, the Island of O’ahu has been a central node in the Hawaiian archipelago and has long been nicknamed The Gathering Place. Today, it hosts the state’s capital and is home to many Indigenous leaders spearheading cultural and linguistic initiatives on land and sea.
