Mooshum tells Natanis about a day on their trapline and in doing so, she learns about numbers. A trapline designates a traditional family territory where they hunt, fish, and trap. She learns one (piyak); two (niso); three (nisto); four (niyo); five (niyanan); six (nikotwasik); seven (teepakohp); eight (ayinaneew); nine (kikaamitataht); and ten (mitataht).

This is one episode of the 10-part Stories of the North Series that tells simple Indigenous stories in a fun and positive manner. The series is set in a northern cabin where Mooshum teaches his granddaughters Cree words through traditional stories, merging education with Indigenous language development interactively and authentically. Features Dr. Morris Cook (Mooshum) - Board Chair Northern Lights SD#113 and his granddaughters “Natanis” and “Sekwan” (played by Claire Walker and Mya Hoskins-Fiddler).
