Entomologists have developed biocontrol methods to eliminate some insects we consider pests, a safer method than using insecticides.  Some insects like bees, wasps, butterflies and ants are pollinators, which are extremely beneficial to the environment and agriculture. We learn about native plants that support pollinators; insects used in medicine and biological research; and insects as food, religious symbols and pets.
