A plant or animal species disappears every 20 minutes worldwide. That's over 26,000 species a year. Far fewer are being discovered, and by cross-referencing information, it seems likely that some species are disappearing before they have even been recorded. In Yasuni National Park, the territory of the Kichwa and Huaorani peoples, the team carried out a biodiversity inventory.
From campfires to nighttime prospecting, their discoveries will be decisive in assessing the consequences of oil exploitation and more generally of human activity.
This documentary relates their adventure.
Film is in French and Spanish with English subtitles.
